Review 1. "A quiet Oasis with your own private roof terrace"

The description given by the owners of this small private hotel is exactly what you find on arrival. The south of Goa is the lesser cultivated area so it gives you the opportunity to see it before the big hotels arrive and take over the lovely coastline and beaches. We opted for the villa as it gives a greater amount of privacy whilst sunbathing but the self contained flats were just as well kitted and comfortable. The Resort is located in a quiet residential area about 25 min flat walk to the beach although the local rickshaws make the journey in 5 mins which was a nice and cheap option. The pool was lovely 9/10 strokes in length and as there are only 5 units in the entire place you can always find a time to use it on your own. If you insist on self catering there are the basic kitchen facilities but we were happy to let Raju the chef take the strain and he did not disappoint, everything is cooked fresh at the time of ordering and if you make a special fish dish request he'll be sure that the fish is purchased only an hour or so before cooking. If you ask nicely he'll let you watch him cook and give a good running commentary. Most importantly the kitchen runs on Western standards with use of purified water. The villa and apartments are cleaned thoroughly each day and if you needed something you only had to ask. The staff are energetic and friendly so nothing is a too much trouble. A small medical problem was resolved by a quick trip to the local Dr within half an hour of making the request, the manager even drove us there and back. This property is best suited to those travellers who want to be away from the madding crowd but with easy accessibility to the bars restaurants and beaches. The only noise you will hear at night will be the neighbouring farm animals and the early morning birds. We personally loved that fact that Colva Beach is used more by Indian visitors than Europeans. It is a long stretch of sandy beach bordered by palm trees with beach shacks for drinks and food. The hawkers are not allowed onto the beach until after sundown so you do not get pestered repeatedly as on other nearby beaches. It was our first visit to India and we enjoyed the experience hugely but at the end of a long day in the sunshine it was lovely to come back to the Sandray to know the staff would look after us and we would have a quiet nights sleep.

Review 2. We stayed at Sandray in November on the recommendation of a friend and were absolutely delighted with it. We had never visited India before and were at times overwhelmed by the bustle and vibrancy of the places we visited so Sandray provided the calm that made for an extremely memorable holiday. The hotel though small was beyond our expectation for service and facilities and the staff were very efficient, the rooms were spotless and comfortable and the gardens although small were beautiful. The Sandray restaurant was one of the best restaurants in town. We ate out a few nights just for the experience but the food in Sandray restaurant was some of the best we ate throughout our stay. The snacks throughout the day and meals in the evening were delicious and varied. Look no further if you are looking for somewhere welcoming and personal. Alison and Neil. UK

Review 3. The Sandray has nice spacious accommodation, a lovely swimming pool and friendly staff. However, the best thing about this place is the food - It's out of this world! Do yourself a favour. Visit Sandray when you are in Goa. You won’t be disappointed. Andy and Bez. London

Review 4. This was my second visit to Sandray Resort but the first for my husband and he was not disappointed. The air conditioned apartment were immaculate and cleaned every day. In the tropical garden the pool and jacuzzi are a welcome retreat from the heat of the day. Clement in particular and all his staff were helpful, polite and discreet. The food was excellent. We only ate out of the resort for one meal. The resort is situated in a quiet residential area. No loud music or rowdy holiday makers. Were both looking forward to our next stay. Dave and Wendy. Review 5. We stayed here for 4 weeks in July 2009, just to chill, relax and sightsee. And at prices lower than our normal day-to-day living in Cyprus, why not? Perfect relaxation! It may have been monsoon season, but we have plenty of sun and beach here in Cyprus, so we were not going for that. Actually, rain is a holiday to us! But don't let that put you off.... But with regards the resort, I echo previous comments. This is the only place ever where I can truly say that when I entered it matched the photos on the website exactly, and I mean exactly!!!!! I felt as if I knew the place already and had been there before, in a strange deja vue type of experience. Totally delighted. The staff are totally the right balance of helpful, available, polite, without being obtrusive. No hard sell or varying prices here on anything. This place truly is a spot of tranquillity, a haven, a retreat, a delight. The apartment is totally like the website. Mid-range, but clean, functional, practical, with everything required, which is the main thing, and for the money, and even compared to some other places we stayed in India, let alone elsewhere in the world or the UK, a complete and utter bargain!! Total, total value for money!!! Trust me. We too, ordered food in most days of our stay, as it was both delicious and very reasonably priced. Again, by UK standards, actually very cheap!! Indeed the first few days we probably over indulged! I would totally recommend the Sandray. What you see is exactly what you get, and this place really is simply breathtaking value!!! Review 6. My family and I, together with friends stayed at the Sandray for four weeks in February 2009 in the Sal Suite and the Bondla Villa. The apartments were very comfortable, clean and well equipped. The living area and bedroom had an aircon unit and ceiling fan. The fridge was well-stocked and prices were very reasonable. Fresh milk, tea, coffee and sugar plus two complementary bottles of water were supplied daily. The restaurant served excellent food which could also be taken in your room. The chef would also prepare your own choice of food if not on the menu. The location of Sandray Luxury Resort was peaceful and tranquil and was only a five minute taxi ride from the brilliant Benaulim beach! We would definitely recommend Sandray Resort. Stan and Joan UK

Review 7. We stayed at the Sandray Luxury Resort in December 2008 for two weeks with friends, sharing one of the four apartments. We found our stay extremely pleasant and relaxing. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and well equipped and the resort staff very friendly and helpful. The food provided by the Sandray Resort chef was excellent, varied and very good value for money. Our experience at Sandray Resort was excellent and would thoroughly recommend it for it's high standard of accommodation and service. Dot and Mat. UK
